The US-1 South widening and reconstruction project in Jefferson County is a 3-year GDOT project that widens 6.572 miles of highway from Wadley Bypass to the Louisville Bypass on US-1 South. Throughout the project, our Structures Division will construct four bridges over Ogeechee River and Ogeechee Overflow. Crews will pour over 1,200 cubic yards of concrete for the bridges’ substructure, set over 6,400 linear feet of beams, and pour approximately 2,500 cubic yards of concrete for the bridges’ superstructure.
