The I-285/I-20 East Interchange Project is a transformative infrastructure initiative in DeKalb County, Georgia, aimed at easing congestion and improving safety at one of the state’s busiest junctions. Led by East Interchange Builders, a joint venture between E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. and Archer Western Construction, the project includes 8 bridges including high-speed flyover ramps, collector-distributor lanes, and multiple bridge replacements. Once complete, it will add 18 lane miles and significantly reduce travel times for commuters and freight traffic. Construction is underway, with major ramp openings already achieved and full completion expected by 2026.
Major Milestone: The flyover ramp from I-285 Southbound to I-20 eastbound officially opened to the public in June 2025.
