Dump Truck Driver
Position Summary:
A Dump Truck Driver’s primary role is to safely and efficiently transport and dump loose materials (such as asphalt, rock or dirt) to and from job sites and projects as required by the company. Loading, operating, and routine maintenance of the truck, as well as other tasks deemed necessary are expected of the driver.
Essential Job Functions:
-Communication Skills: good written and verbal communication in English, ability to work with others
-Safety Knowledge: should be familiar/have experience Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, as well as following safety procedures and highway traffic signals at each individual project
-Time Management: keep efficient scheduling and operate procedures in a timely manner
-Familiarity with Industry Standards: comprehend and stay updated with DOT regulations
Responsibilities:
-Maintain a safe vehicle and equipment
-Follow flagger instructions while on site
-Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections per company policy
-Work with and load a variety of raw materials
-Process and turn in proper documents for each load and/or project to supervisors
-Perform other related tasks as necessary
Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-Class A or B Driver’s License required
-Past experience operating trucks in accordance with OSHA/MSHA guidelines
-Experience and familiarity with road construction industry preferred
