On Monday September 21, 2009 due to heavy rains over the weekend Hwy 78 at Hugh Howell RD had a mud slide that blocked traffic east and west bound.  GDOT asked ER Snell Contractor, Inc. for help cleaning the mud off the road by providing water trucks, within a few hours traffic on Hwy 78 was moving again.

Southwest Rome Bypass

This large project began in March 2008 and involves the construction of a portion of the Rome Bypass. ER Snell will eventually move over 4,000,000 cubic yards of dirt and rock to allow a smooth grade through this mountainous area. In addition, the project includes 12 large concrete box culverts and 3 double bridges.
